🔍 Step 5: Finalize & Review

After completing the core setup — including 🛠️ creating an account, 🏢 entering company info, 🏦 linking bank details, and 📄 configuring tax docs — the final step is to review your setup, validate key components, and trigger your initial payroll simulation.

This step ensures your FlexPay instance is fully functional and ready for production use.


✅ What you’ll confirm in this step

The Finalize & Review step acts like a diagnostic checklist. It verifies that each onboarding section has been completed correctly and flags missing or incomplete items.

Key validations include:

Confirms your user account has been verified via email and 2FA.

🏢 Company Identity

Checks legal business name, EIN, address, and entity type are on file.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Team Setup

Verifies team members have roles, pay schedules, and tax IDs entered.

🏦 Bank Verification

Confirms micro-deposits cleared and account is “Ready for Payroll Funding.”

📄 Tax Document Status

Ensures state/federal registrations were saved or deferred with a note.

If any item is incomplete, you’ll see a “⚠️ Needs attention” tag with a clickable prompt that returns you to the related page.


📊 The Dashboard Review Page

After validations are complete, you’ll land on the Review Dashboard.

This dashboard presents:

  • A read-only view of your entered data

  • Links to edit any section (without redoing the whole flow)

  • An estimated “go-live readiness score” (out of 100%)

  • Warnings if tax data doesn’t match company EIN/state

  • Confirmation that your bank is funded for a test payroll

💡 Hint: FlexPay doesn’t lock any field during review. You can update values any time before your first payroll run.


🧪 Run a Test Payroll (Optional)

Before going live, we recommend running a test payroll. This does not transmit real funds, but it allows you to:

  • See calculated gross/net pay for each team member

  • Verify tax withholdings and benefit deductions

  • Preview the total debit amount that will be pulled

  • Catch issues with team classifications or missing data

Once generated, you’ll receive:

  • A simulated Payroll Summary PDF

  • A breakdown of debits, credits, and tax routes

  • A “What If” alert if anything unusual stands out (e.g., 0 hours worked)


🧾 Lock-in & Launch

When you’re satisfied with your setup:

  1. Click “Approve & Launch” at the bottom of the dashboard.

  2. You’ll receive a final prompt to confirm:

    • Bank account ready

    • Tax data validated

    • Payroll schedule reviewed

Once approved:

  • FlexPay switches your account to Live Mode

  • Your first real payroll will appear in the Payroll tab

  • Notifications are sent to your team that onboarding is complete
